As a portrait and lifestyle photographer based in San Francisco, I strive to capture people in their truest light. I enjoy documenting the pure and unexpected moments of life, particularly kids and teens - watching them navigate the world with beautiful awkwardness fascinates me. My work celebrates diversity and embracing one another’s uniqueness. I am inspired by my connections with people and their stories, near and far.
I relish the process of discovery in whatever situation is unfolding in my life. I ingrain this principle in my photography - I observe and capture the energy created between the subject, camera, and ultimately the viewer. Sometimes the result is jarring or evokes a strong emotion. Many times my images may exude the quiet strength and introspection of a portrait.
In addition to my photography work, I am also the founder and executive director of KidsRise, a nonprofit dedicated to engaging and empowering the next generation of voters.
